Become a volunteer for our new Moving Forward program, which gives teenage girls in the foster care system the support they need to plan for their futures. At a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local and county officials, the Linda and Rudy Slucker NCJW Center of Women (CFW) celebrated the grand opening of its Career Closet, a service for women who need business-appropriate clothing to jump-start their personal economic recovery, at 349 East Northfield Road, Livingston. NCJW/Essex Volunteers Staff Soup Kitchen on MLK Day
Forty volunteers, ranging in age from 12 to 72, organized, cooked, served, and cleaned up in order to feed more than 70 people in need of a hot meal on Martin Luther King Day on January 16. Held at Christine’s Kitchen at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in West Orange, the MLK Day lunch was organized and sponsored by NCJW/Essex. The diners included local men, women, and children ranging in age from 7 to 70. See our slide show.
